Conveniently located just a few miles east of Norwich, the privately owner managed construction company of JS HAY has over 90 full-time staff, of which 12 are employed in the specialist Joinery division of the business.
The original business, was acquired in the 1960s by Jock Hay, the grandfather of today's managing director, Rob Lockhart. It was Jock and his team which, as Rob is still quick to point out, built the company's initial reputation for quality and value which the firm still enjoys, saying, "We wouldn't be where we are today without the great start my grandfather gave us and the dedication and commitment of our highly trained staff, some of whom have been with us from the start. That sort of family history gives all of us a sense of real pride in everything we do, and sharpens our focus on consistent quality and value for money."
Today, the construction company operates right across the Eastern Region, handling contracts won through open market tendering, negotiation, design and build, and strategic partnering.
The company directly employees over 60 site based operatives, including many vastly experienced craftsmen whose skills continue to enhance its reputation for quality and reliability. It only employs subcontractors from a select list of built up over many years
HAY Joinery supplies JS HAY Construction division, along with many other contractors and private clients all over the country. Like its parent company, HAY Joinery has won many awards recognising the consistent quality of its work.
It is a mix hard to replicate in any other company environment. Certainly, in JS HAY, there are no external shareholders or other outside investors seeking to drive the business in directions that may ultimately be to the cost of either customer satisfaction or the established JS HAY reputation
